Detection Technology
The Bosch Smart Home Motion Detector uses passive infrared (PIR) technology to detect movements in an area. PIR sensors sense movements by detecting changes in infrared energy emitted by body heat. The detector has intelligent sensors that can differentiate between humans and pets, reducing the likelihood of false alarms.
Triggering an Alarm
When the Motion Detector is activated as part of the alarm system and detects unusual movement, it triggers an alarm signal and sends a notification via the app. The alarm signal can be, for example, the siren of the Smoke Detector. This allows homeowners to take immediate action if an unwanted guest tries to gain access to their living spaces.
Automatic Lighting Control
When used for automatic lighting control, the Motion Detector switches on selected lights when there is movement in combination with Philips Hue lamps and/or the Smart Plug. This provides convenient lighting control and added security when homeowners are away from home.

The box contains one motion detector, one lithium-ion long-life battery, fixing materials for screw and adhesive mounting, installation instructions, and a reminder about battery disposal regulations. The detector has a symbol of a garbage can crossed out by an X, indicating that the battery must not be disposed of in household waste. It also includes information about the percentage of lead, cadmium, and mercury by mass in the battery.
